CMDA’s “Montreal Gala” talk of the town
CMDA’s “Montreal Gala” on May 23rd at Le Windsor continues to be the talk of the town by the more than 330 guests who attended the lavish event.
Keynote speaker, Professor Eilat Shinar, Director of Magen David Adom’s National Blood Centre in Israel, described the importance of safeguarding Israel’s blood supply. Construction has begun on a new, state-of-the-art facility that will safely store more than 500,000 units of blood. Chaim Silberstein expressed his deep appreciation to Magen David Adom for their life-saving treatment of his daughter, Shira Ish-Ran, who was injured in a terrorist attack in December, 2018. Shira, seven months pregnant at the time, lost her baby but, she herself, survived thanks to MDA and the many units of blood that she received. Proceeds from the event will help provide the new blood centre with the most advanced medical equipment available.
Special thanks to event co-chairs, Arlèn Abitan and Leslie Lenetsky who, together with their committee, worked their own brand of magic and successfully created an outstanding event.
